Karelia Stetz-Waters



Karelia Stetz-Waters is author of Stumped, a thriller, and Suburban Love Stories: A Memoir.  She is currently working on the sequel to Stumped.

She is also co-author of the blog House Proud Lesbians: The Further Adventures of Professor Awesome and the Honorable Judge Style. 

Stetz-Waters holds a Master's in English from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor's in Comparative Literature from Smith College.

Other formative educational experiences include working for a mob-run mortgage company, a full time job doing nothing but reading the Amherst alumni quarterly, and several years playing pool at Hugo's Cafe in Northampton, MA.     

Stetz-Waters enjoys the fiction of Sarah Waters,
Jeanette Winterson, Andrew Klavan, John Sandford
Linda Kay Silva, and Richard North Patterson.  In
nonfiction she enjoys Robert Whitaker, Oliver Sacks,
Vilayanur S. Ramachandran, Malcolm Gladwell and
Tracy Kidder.
